My Home Town, Tehran

Tehran has been the capital of Iran for 220 years. Originally, it was a little village of Raay city (the city in which Zakarya Razi lived) but after its selection as the capital, it developed and evolved to the city in which we live today! It has a land of 658 square kilometers and a population of 7, 314, 000. Most of industries and major organizations are based in Tehran. These factors are enough to attract a lot of people out of the capital to migrate to it.
On one side, my home town is surrounded by Alborz mounts, on the other side it is surrounded by desert. Having this condition, it causes the weather to remain settled. Additionally, Tehran is a four season city which rarely its weather changes without warning.

Since Tehran is a big city, transportation plays a very important role in the life of its habitants. Nowadays there are three types of transportation; buses, taxies and metro. Metro has been run since 2001, however, it was settled down in I968. It should be considered the construction of tramway was proposed 110 years ago! Tehran has also two international airports; Mehrabad and Imam Khomeyni airports. Mehrabad is located at the west part of Tehran and Imam Khomeyni airport is located at the distance of 30 kilometers of Tehran on the road to Qom.
My home town has various entertainment centers like ski centers (Tochal, Darband, Dizin, and etc), museums (Ancient Iran, Islamic Iran, Contemporary Art, Handcrafts, Carpets and so on) and historical buildings like Shamsolemare, Toqrol Tower, Golestan Palace, Saheb Qaranieh, Great Bazaar, and a lot more!

Tehran has also 739 parks and 70 cinemas. These facilities tempt any Iranian with less facilities to choose Tehran as the home town but while the traffic and air pollution problems are not solved, living in this city makes people sick.
Although, sometimes living in Tehran disappoints me, seeing these pictures of Tehran in winter and summer encourages me to change my mind.
